
Author, journalist and political commentator, Antoine Sfeir’s career includes writing for “L’Orient-Le Jour”, the Middle East’s first French language daily newspaper, and a wide range of French periodicals and reviews including “La Croix”, “Le Pelerin” and “Le Point”. In 1985 he founded “Cahiers d’Orient”, a journal of research and reflections on the Arab and Islamic world. Highly regarded as an authority on the latter, he is the author of “Dictionnaire Mondial de l’Islamisme”, which analyzes the rise of radical Islam. French citizen since 1980 and resident of France, Sfeir has been made a Knight of the Legion of Honor, one of France’s greatest distinctions, and has also been awarded France’s National Order of Merit.
