Former Lebanese Minister of Defense and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, respected public servant and political veteran, recognized for international diplomatic creativity in the service of the country, Boutros over the years has built his reputation on the rejection of violence, of extremism and obscurity, placing his adherence on co-existence and an emphasis on sovereignty. Always ready to defend his beliefs, Boutros was through the years neither compromising on certain positions for incidental gain nor lenient when resorting to settlement, admirable traits that put him in charge of an energy-consuming task of presiding over the committee devising electoral reform for Lebanon.
