Born into a political family, educated at Harvard and at Oxford University, Bhutto displayed a depth of courage and belief to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the youngest person and the first woman ever to lead an Islamic state. Having already endured years in exile or under house arrest, Bhutto knew how to reach out to the crowds and won the general election in 1987. She faced great challenges especially from those who opposed her because of her gender. Bhutto was re-elected in 1993. She is now living in exile sharing her time between the UK and Dubai in the Emirates.
