A highly prolific film composer, each composition unique and inspired from various genres and styles, Lebanese born Yared started his early career as a pop composer and musical arranger. Always willing to discover Yared was awarded a Cesar for his moody saxophone compositions in Betty Blue and another for The Lover in which he experimented with oriental instruments. Composing up to seven scores a year he was awarded an Oscar in 1996 for his work on The English Patient.
