Assuming the presidency of Lebanon at a most difficult stage the late President Hraoui reached out with clarity and realism to the public. Admired for a generous spirit, his empathy with the Lebanese and his vision of justice, equity and well-being for all, Hraoui oversaw a period of massive re-construction at home. Concerned with amnesty for political crimes, the cultivation of drugs and trafficking, the promotion of health, environment and information, the consolidation of the state, it was the Israeli occupation of the south that made him prophesize that though the war in Lebanon was over the war over Lebanon was not.
The interview with Ricardo Karam took place in Baabda, Lebanon.
