
World number one in 1995 and regarded by many as one of the true greats of tennis, Agassi would dominate from the baseline, hitting back angled precision shots and in the process wear his opponents down. Winner of eight Grand Slam singles titles, Agassi was only the fifth player to have won all four Grand Slam events. Armed with arguably the best return of service seen in tennis, Agassi, who is of Armenian heritage, transformed his image from rebel to crowd performer and again became the top ranked male, the game’s oldest ever, in 2003.
