CAREER
Almost 30 years of series, documentaries and talk shows presented by Ricardo Karam on leading Lebanese and Arab television stations established him as one of the most sought-after media personalities in the region. His shows have evolved into must-watch television programs that inform and entertain and never disappoint.
Ricardo has conversed with people who have left a mark on the world. He has not only spoken to artists and architects, designers, writers, free thinkers, stars, politicians, and businessmen but also to revolutionary women who have worked and fought against all odds, and to young men who fought the brave fight. He has made them tell powerful stories that challenge notions and norms and cast doubt on prejudice. Consequently, he chose to write his own story. He has decided to create his own approach, rarely promoting his work so to allow the content to speak for itself until the day he joined the digital platforms.
Ricardo Karam has founded RK Productions, a production and consulting company with production expertise, business and marketing strategies specializing in television format creation across local as well as global television and media markets. It also provides assistance helping clients target their audience and deliver their message.
RK Productions has been therefore a home to all of his extensive material.
TAKREEM is a foundation that was established in 2009 with the aim of accompanying the Arab world’s journey for change by acknowledging Arab accomplishments all around the world and playing its part in bringing together the actors of the region’s makeover.
The Foundation organizes year-round conferences, symposiums, meetings, mentorships, and an annual Awards Night. Since its inception, it has honored close to 150 laureates coming from almost every Arab country. It built bridges between North Africa, the Middle East, the Gulf, and Arab diaspora, creating a community of like-minded people and acting as a gateway for the region’s cultural, educational, scientific, environmental, humanitarian, social and economic excellence.
TAKminds is TAKREEM’s latest creation and the Foundation’s way of taking its mission one step further by sparking a dynamic and well-needed conversation concerning the mosaic of themes that make up the Awards categories. It’s a platform where change-makers and new talents are brought together and tackle the real-life challenges of the world we live in. The aim is to weave together the threads of education, business, art, culture, media, and technology in order to build a more sustainable future.
TAKminds is characterized by its interactive format and comes in all shapes and forms: forums, panel discussions, workshops, round tables, gatherings, and individual interventions as well as online content aiming to explore how, beyond violence and chaos, the Arab world is being reshaped by new leaders from across the region and the Arab diaspora.
